Annual Awards Night

This years Band Annual Dinner and Awards Evening was held at the Pontypool Golf Club.  The event was well attended by band members and supporters.

The Awards

The award for the most promising player went to Ryan Browne who has recently moved up from the Junior Band to play Second Baritone.

The Reg Preece Memorial Trophy for the Best Section was awarded to the Basses.

The Conductors awards, chosen by Andrew Protherough-Jones was awarded to Linda Mealing who has returned to the band after a long time out of banding.  Unfortunately Linda was not able to attend the awards evening.

The Bandsperson of the Year is an award that is voted for by band members. This years recipient was Jane Davies.

Other presentations were made to Brenda Nicholas and Theresa Sanders for there constant support for the band, Alan Styles for keeping the bandroom in good repair, Dave Jones for his work for the recent Blaenavon Contest.
