Darryl Preece, Solo Trombone

Darryl is brother to Percussionist Janet Jones. Darryl joined the band in 1962 and has played 2nd Cornet.  In 2003 he decided that 3 valves were too complicated and played 2nd Trombone.  He has now progressed to Solo Trombone. Favourite test piece is the Philip Wilby test 'New Jerusalem'.

Darryl loves playing for the band and asks what other hobby gives you the chance to travel, meet good friends, play on radio and TV and have a great social life? Can't argue with that.
