Thursday 8th May 2008 Fund Raising for Harrogate Finals hits £1,700 So far the Band has raised over £1,700 towards funding the trip to Harrogate for the National Finals. The Band has been really busy with concerts and fund raising events since we qualified for the finals back in March. The Band needs to raise about £5,000 to pay for the trip so the current figure is just a good start with another £3,300 to be found. Last Monday the band played at the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway open day and also held a quiz night. The band are very grateful to Butterflies Restaurant for their continued support and their £100 donation. We also have to thank MPE Limited of Hirwaun who have provided the band with £200. MPE Limited serve the demanding and high quality pharmaceutical, chemical, food processing, engineering and other related industries. Currently they are the only UK company offering both the specialised electro-chemical polishing and precision mechanical polishing as a contract service, under the same roof. More fundraising events have been organised including playing at a Beer Festival on 1st June and a parade in Brynmawr on 6th June.
