Thursday 27th May 2010 Junior Band Annual Awards The Blaenavon Town Junior Band held their annual awards night at the Blaenavon Senior Citizens Hall tonight. The night contained music, surprises and lots of cake. The Award for Junior Bandsman of the Year went to horn player Joel Parry who has put in exceptional effort this year in his involvement with the band. Best Learner was awarded to Rachel Morgan who plays cornet and has made tremendous progress over the last year. There was also a special award for David Langley who has been in the band since the age of 7 and has this year been helping rehearse the Junior Band. David will be leaving the band soon as he starts a Music Degree course at Cardiff University. David's Award was presented by Band President Wayne Lewis.
After the concert and presentations the Junior Band were treated to Tea and Cakes from the Senior Citizens. |
