1st April 2006 - Trial use of Video Reply Evidence at Ebbw Vale The Ebbw Vale Brass Band contest is to see the first use of a trial system of Video Replays for Adjudicators. The system makes use of a number of Video Cameras focused on competing bands and can be used by Adjudicators to replay contentious incidents, such as mute infringements and whether or not they actually played the repeat in the DC, of a bands performance. The aim of the trial is to determine if the system, called AdjudiView™, would be suitable for general use in Brass Band contests. European Head of Brass Bands, Loof Lirpa, was quoted as saying “This will be a major step forward in giving adjudicators what they deserve. If this trial is a success we will be looking at other innovations such as High Note Penalty Shoot Outs for Soprano Players and Rasp Inhibitors for Bass Trombones.”
