128th Anniversary
of the Battle of Rorke's Drift
The
Band took park in the commemorations for the 128th Anniversary of the
Battle of Rorke's Drift in 1879. Private John Field was awarded the
Victoria Cross in the Battle and is buried in St.Michael's Churchyard,
Llantarnum where the service was held.
The Band led the parade of ex-servicemen into the
Churchyard to the tune of Men of Harlech. After the service the Parade
moved off the the sound of Old Comrades.
