Tuesday 13th March 2007 Swansea Review Seven bands take to the stage in the Third Section at the Brangwyn Hall Swansea on Saturday playing Darrol Barrys Prelude and Jubilate.
The action kicks off at 11.30am with the results expected straight after the Third Section. Blaenavon Town have been working very hard over the past three weeks preparing for the most important contest of the year. Mr Brian Buckley has taken 2 excellent rehearsals in which the importance of music and enjoyment was stressed. The Band is very grateful to Brian for his help during an awkward time. There is also a big thank you to Andrew Jones who has stepped in at short notice to direct the band at the Contest. Andrew is a very good friend of the band and has helped us out in recent concerts. He has worked the band hard in rehearsals and is putting together what we hope will be a competitive performance. According to 4BarsRest.com the front runners are Llwydcoed and Porthaethwy Menai Bridge with Blaenavon Town given a predicted third. There's only 3 rehearsals left for us to put the final polish on the performance. Let's hope that 4BarsRest.com are slightly out in their predictions and that we can book a place at the finals.
