Treorchy Contest

In the end we left the performance in the bandroom.  The lyrical smooth playing was missing as nerves and the odd slip took the shine off what could have been an excellent performance.

First place and the Welsh Championship went to Penclawdd Brass followed by our old friends Briton Ferry in second.  Along with us, these bands have made up the top 3 for all this years Welsh Contests.

The results mean that Penclawdd win the Welsh Championship and Blaenavon are second.  Over the 2 year period Briton Ferry are top with us second.  Promotion to the first section will now depend on the Welsh Brass Bands Associations decisions.

In the end this caps a very successful year for the band.  The fact that we are disappointed with a third place speaks volumes about the progress the band has made in the last 18 months.
